Chimper #421
Kakusaburou clears the fish statue in a single bound, a blur of white against the spray of Waterfall City. The boatwrights down by the docks swear they move without sound, their parcels appearing on a counter as if by magic. But one of the old guards remembers something different. They recall seeing the messenger, mask and all, watching the Beast Warrior Hiro during a public demonstration of strength. While others cheered the wild warrior's roars, Kakusaburou stood completely still, eyes wide with something like reverence. The guard claims thatโs what fuels them. Every urgent message delivered through the cityโs winding stairs is a blow struck for their home, a fight won with silence and speed. They never speak, but sometimes, if the light hits just right, you can see a blush creep above the mask.
