Chimper #1786
Toraberu never needed much encouragement to chase a rumor, especially one that had survived long enough to catch Kami's attention. So he climbed once more into the snow-covered mountains, following whispers of an ancient egg and hoping, as always, that this impossible search would reward persistence with discovery. The journey was long and mostly lonely. He found caves, updated maps, shared one brief meal with a skeptical panda, and pressed onward into harsher weather. Then, crossing a frozen lake, he stumbled upon a field of carcasses and heard the screech of a hunting beast descending from the sky. Toraberu raised his sabre, fully expecting to die. Instead, a silent chimp appeared, tore the creature apart with terrifying ease, and walked away without a word. Toraberu followed. At the edge of the lake, the stranger climbed into a mysterious egg-shaped shell that sealed itself and rolled uphill into the mountain. As Toraberu studied the blue markings on its surface, realization struck. He had found far more than a rumor.
