Tsuruchiyo carries a Dragonslayer Blade but flinches at the sound of a startled bird. Their life as an explorer was an accident, a clerical error that sent them to catalogue the magical monoliths of The Crystal Highlands of Armaria instead of sorting scrolls in a library. The title and the sword came later, won in a bet they were trying to lose. Their career nearly ended after a clumsy fall down a rockslide shattered their gear. They were found by Mekanikku, the reclusive defector, who repaired their headset with technology far beyond its original specs. Mekanikku said nothing of payment. These days, the headset sometimes intercepts coded whispers and military frequencies, things an unwilling adventurer was never meant to hear. The shocked look is no longer just an expression; it’s a permanent state.
