Chimper #2195
Japako was always asking the wrong questions. In The Crystal Highlands of Armaria, every magical query had a pre-approved answer, but they were more interested in the hum the monoliths made when no one was listening. They found a kindred spirit in Itan-sha, who didn't offer answers, but better, sharper questions about the powers the wizards refused to name. When the sorcerers cast Itan-sha out, Japako faced a choice: renounce this new curiosity or be exiled alongside their mentor. They walked away without a second thought. The first lesson in the wilderness was how to mix the war paint. It wasn't for battle, Itan-sha explained, but for seeing. It helps a chimp forget their old face. With each new line painted, Japako feels less like an outcast and more like an explorer.
