Chimper #2262
Johana adjusted the damp cloth around Tako's head, the little octopus clinging happily to their shoulder as they strolled through The Great Panda City. An explorer by trade, they had found the creature alone in a rapidly evaporating tidal pool during a coastal survey. Leaving it was never an option. The journey back to the high-altitude city was a series of challenges: keeping Tako moist, finding salty minerals, and enduring the strange looks from other travelers. But their patience never wavered. Back home, the locals took to calling them Johana the Bound, seeing not a prisoner but a soul willingly tied to another. Their explorations are closer to home now, limited by what a small octopus can endure. Johana doesn't mind. Their greatest discovery was never a place, but a friend.
