Chimper #253
What good is a shard of volcanic power if you can’t use it to perfectly toast a fish? This is the question that guides Rueko the Curious through their days in Waterfall City. While others see the scorching embers on their back—a rumored spark from the legendary Hotaru themself—and speak of destiny, Rueko is more concerned with practical applications. Their grey bandana, a veteran’s relic, is often tilted in focus as they try using the sacred flame to dry laundry faster or warm the river for the trading frogs. The war paint was an attempt to look fierce, but they copied the pattern from a butterfly. No one knows how they came to possess such a gift, least of all Rueko, whose training mostly consists of learning what not to accidentally set on fire.
