Chimper #262
The sharp thwack of an apple stick against a sparring post is the first thing most trainees hear at The Dojo. The veterans will tell you Kashiki used to carry a real blade, one that drank moonlight and sang a deadly song, but those stories feel like they belong to someone else. The teacher they know wears a silly fox beanie and uses that polished branch to teach lessons on balance, patience, and knowing when not to strike. โLook at Kengorou,โ the older students whisper. โThey arrived thinking a sword solved everything. Kashiki made them carry water in a leaky bucket for a week.โ They say the stick is from a tree that only fruits in winter, a symbol of life in the cold. Or maybe Kashiki just really likes apples.
