Fuchie

The scent of damp bamboo on the freezing wind always reminds Fuchie of their failure. They and Senano were inseparable as youths, tracing paths between cherry blossom trees and swearing to map the peaks that cradled their city. Fuchie was always the grounded one, the reliable friend Senano could count on. But on a treacherous climb, a sudden rockslide sent a spike of pure terror through Fuchie’s heart.
