Chimper #2852
The most nervous cartographer in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria is Okahiko. They arrived to chart the humming frequencies of the great monoliths, a task they assumed would be a quiet, academic pursuit. They did not, however, account for the territorial crystal-backs drawn to the arcane vibrations. It was Yuki who found them, cornered and fumbling with a compass. No grand rescue, just a swift, silent kill. Okahiko tried to explain the concept of a life-debt, but Yuki simply nodded toward the cold path ahead. Their pact was sealed without words. These days, Okahiko reads the shifting light to predict magical surges, while Yuki reads the tracks in the crystalline dust. When a fight is unavoidable, Okahiko unleashes a storm of sakura petals, a deadly art from a softer world. Yuki never asks where they learned it.
