Chimper #2888
Shiuka’s ledger, bound in scaly fish-leather, contains meticulous records of every transaction in Waterfall City and one very large, ink-stained smudge. That smudge marks the day the ledger slipped from their grasp on the upper stairs. It bounced off a merchant's awning, catapulting a bucket of shrimp onto a sleeping cat, which shrieked and spooked a frog-drawn cart. The cart swerved violently, missing Tsunehito’s head by a whisker. Tsunehito, who had been admiring the patterns in a puddle, looked up to see Shiuka frantically waving—not in heroic warning, but in a desperate attempt to save their book. Tsunehito proclaimed them a hero. Shiuka, ever practical, simply adjusted their azure cap and accepted the praise. That ledger now has a special protective strap.
