Merchants along the bamboo-lined streets claim Tadarou can move without a sound, a phantom in the cold mountain air. This reputation began the day they tried to shadow a crooked tax collector. A misplaced step, a rogue gust of wind whipping down from the peaks, and a cart full of cherry blossoms later, Tadarou landed squarely in a fishmonger’s stall. The resulting chaos revealed the collector's hidden ledgers, which had been stuffed inside a large river trout. Hailed as a brilliant, if eccentric, hero, Tadarou was horrified. They sought out Monku, lamenting their lack of grace. Monku listened patiently before noting that the path to peace is not always a quiet one. Tadarou still wears the mask and attempts to be a silent shadow, but the city’s fishmongers now offer them a discount—just in case.
