Watari

Watari was a truly abysmal spy. Their entire career in The Great Panda City was a masterclass in failed stealth, mostly because of two things: the ridiculously bright lantern they refused to part with, and their arch-nemesis, Happii. The rivalry was not over state secrets; it was over prime territory. Happii, a rival explorer charting the city's best snack stalls, always seemed to be setting up shop exactly where Watari needed to shadow a target. One evening, Watari’s attempt at a silent rooftop escape was foiled by a sudden freezing gust, sending them tumbling directly into Happii’s arms. The fall knocked the mask askew, revealing not a hardened rogue but a flustered chimper. Happii just tightened their scarf and offered to share their tea. The cold war ended that night, replaced by shared maps marking both secret routes and the best spots for warm mochi.
