When Kenji's vision of an interconnected webway was first debated in the halls of The Teikodian Empire, Shirara found their purpose and their rival in the same breath. With a face painted in the bold strokes of kabuki theatre, Shirara argued for unity through shared spectacle and grand tradition. Across the chamber, a stoic noble named Kiri argued for unity through logistics and cold, hard pacts. From that day, their contest began. For every festival Shirara organized to inspire the people, Kiri brokered a trade deal that quietly bound factions together. They saw each other as foils: Shirara saw Kiri as soulless, while Kiri saw Shirara as frivolous. Yet, they were the only two who truly understood the stakes. They trade barbs in public and share intel in secret, each the unforgiving mirror the other needs to truly build a world worthy of that vision.
