Chimper #3213
The roar of the falls used to sound like a challenge to Panku. In the lower plazas of Waterfall City, they were a brawler, not a warrior, fighting with cheap tricks and raw nerve for a handful of trinkets. Their only loyalty was to the next victory. That changed the day the city's defenses were drawn away and cultists swarmed the pale stone temple. Panku was there to loot, not to save. But seeing the fanatics advance, they made a choice. In holding a collapsing gate against impossible odds, their body flooded with light, transforming them. Washi later bestowed the title of Champ not for the hundred brawls won, but for the one fight they chose for someone else. These days, the falls sound less like a challenge and more like a promise.
