Chimper #3759
Yonenobu remembered the clean snap of an apple from their home village—plain, crisp, and honest. That was before the incident at The Dojo. A training bout grew too heated, their pride outstripped their skill, and a rival's staff left their vision permanently blurred. Desperate not to fall behind, they sought a forbidden tinkerer who replaced their damaged eye with a Chimpborg lens. It granted them sight beyond measure, but it came with a terrible thirst. The device needed the nectar of a rare, glowing fruit, the same kind that cursed Otto with an insatiable hunger. The craving consumed them. They now guard the mountain path where the fruit grows, a self-imposed penance. When a young trainee asks why, Yonenobu simply offers them a piece of a normal apple, its taste a warning that some hungers are not worth feeding.
