Chimper #3770
There’s an old saying in The Heart of the Forest: the most vibrant blossoms hide the sharpest thorns. Naruhisa always preferred tending to the blossoms. Their days were spent perfecting the knot of their red bow and polishing their visor, not tracking foes through the undergrowth. That changed when Nagia’s faction laid claim to the riverbank Naruhisa favored. Their rivalry was bitter and personal, lasting a full season until a greater threat—Teikodian scouts—forced a truce. After driving them out together, returning to simple animosity felt pointless. Naruhisa never wanted to be a warrior, and certainly never wanted a traveling companion. Yet now they walk the wilder paths with their former enemy, still adjusting their bow in the reflection of puddles.
