Saraka

The keeper of the guiding lanterns was supposed to be a solemn role, a silent guide through the forgotten tunnels beneath The Teikodian Empire. Saraka, however, could not resist making shadow puppets on the dungeon walls, much to the eternal annoyance of their partner, a disgraced palace guard with a permanent scowl. The guard provides the maps and the grim determination; Saraka provides the light and an endless stream of terrible jokes whispered in the dark. The guard insists they are seeking proof of imperial corruption to clear their name. Saraka claims they're just looking for the best echo chamber in the entire palace. One time, a silly dance cast a flickering shadow that revealed a hidden lever, saving them both. The guard still hasn’t smiled, but they no longer tell Saraka to be quiet.
