Chimper #4220
The taste of mist and the unending roar of the great cascade are the first things anyone learns in Waterfall City. Miryou the Plucky learned something else: patience. The other trainees laugh, seeing only a determined novice with a ridiculous fish-bait charm bobbing on their head, a pink visor shielding their eyes from the sun's glare. They think the ninja mask is just to keep the endless spray from their face. But the visor cuts the glare for a reason, letting them track the precise movements of cargo skiffs in the lower districts. The mask hides their lips as they silently count the paces of guard patrols on the rock-hewn stairs. Like Daiyamondo, their will is unbreakable. Today, that patience pays off. A small, unmarked barge has just docked, carrying crates with no official seal. It is the signal they were told to watch for.
