Chimper #425
Meruna’s fishing rod is not for catching fish. They sat by the lake’s edge, where the steam of sparring Chimps frosted the air, ignoring the clang of steel. A highly ranked trainee, impatient and dismissive, demanded a real fight. Meruna simply nodded, their mouth a tight, uneasy line. When the warrior charged, Meruna didn’t stand. They flicked their wrist, casting their line not at the approaching figure, but at their reflection in the icy water. The hook snagged the shimmering image. Instantly, the charging Chimper froze mid-stride, a look of profound confusion on their face, their body held fast by an unseen force. With a gentle tug, Meruna reeled in the line, and the warrior toppled over, utterly defeated without a single blow.
