Chimper #4291
Natsurou scaled the slick rock stairs of Waterfall City again, paying the rushing water no mind. The fishers at the city's base say the drizzle follows them, a personal storm clinging to their adventurer's pack. They claim Natsurou never barters for food, only for maps of places long drowned, hungry for something the living cannot provide. The guards on the plaza have a different tale. They've seen Natsurou take falls that would shatter any chimp, only to rise again, their dramatic kabuki paint unsmudged. They call it resilience. Only the temple acolytes know the truth. They say Natsurou is a failed spell, a body Yurei tried to inhabit and abandoned. Now, the mad wizard's hatred clings to them, driving them to seek places so remote that even a vengeful spirit might finally get lost.
