Chimper #449
"Don't mind their eyes," the old frog merchant always says to new customers at their stall on the lower docks of Waterfall City. "The fire that gave them those scars also tempered their soul." Oborozukuyo came to the city seeking the temple's purifying waters, a silent warrior whose Arctic fur was forever marked by the scorching embers left by Inferuno. Locals saw only the demonic gaze and kept their distance. But the merchant, whose boat Oborozukuyo once saved from being dashed on the rocks, saw something else. They saw the traditional haori, worn with an old-fashioned dignity, and the symbol of love etched on their head. Now, they are an inseparable pair. The warrior's grim silence is the perfect counterpoint to the merchant's endless haggling, and in the quiet moments, they share bowls of fish stew, watching the falls thunder down into the river.
