What is the proper way to atone for accidentally setting a Rock Wizard’s prize-winning crystal-bonsai collection on fire? For Maremi, it’s a question they’ve been trying to answer for years. The demonstration for their rival, Kahoriko, in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria was meant to be a display of peerless swordsmanship. Instead, a flashy parry went spectacularly wrong, sending their katana pinwheeling into the wizard’s prized display. The scar on their cheek is from the sword’s hilt hitting them on its chaotic return journey; the stunned look in their eyes has been there ever since. They now wander, attempting grand, heroic deeds that usually end in farce, all while Kahoriko watches from afar with a permanent expression of disbelief.
