Chimper #5076
Noe of the Short Night steps from the mists by the Dojo’s lake, their guiding lanterns casting a glow that doesn't disturb the water. The trainees whisper from the shadows. ‘They say Noe was an explorer who walked into a place where time broke,’ says one. ‘Instead of dying, they just… adapted.’ This explanation, whispered for generations, feels true. Much like the mutant Hen'i-tai, Noe became something else to endure the unendurable. They return only for a few hours, between moonset and sunrise, leaving behind maps of impossible realms. They earned their name because an eternity of travel is compressed into their brief visits, making the longest night feel short. By dawn, they are gone, leaving only a chill and a single, unearthly flower on Master Chimpo's doorstep.
