Chimper #623
The faint scent of cedar shavings still clings to Harugiku's red dragon robes, a ghost of a life they were supposed to live. Before the visions, their days in The Heart of the Forest were simple, measured by the gentle curl of wood falling from a carving knife. They were meant to shape trinkets, not futures. But the forest spirits chose them, and it was Renoha who found them after the first prophecy left them trembling. Renoha spoke of destiny and purpose, helping Harugiku into the heavy ceremonial garb and becoming their steadfast partner. Now, they walk a path of mystic importance together, but Harugiku feels like an imposter. While Renoha interprets cosmic signs, Harugiku just wants the feeling of a tool in their hands again, carving something that doesn't talk back.
