Chimper #709
Every morning, Fuiyu greets the tallest monolith with a quiet nod. They came to the highlands as a simple explorer, a warm soul content to map the veins of glowing crystal and share tea with the local wizards. They loved the old ways, finding beauty in the slow work of charting how the sunset struck each colourful peak. That was before they stumbled into a hidden cavern beneath the dark, spinning fortress. Inside, they laid a hand on a smooth, dark stone that hummed with energy. It showed them a memory that was not their own: a silent, star-filled sky tearing open, and a colossal, unseen hand placing the monoliths into the ground like pins. The vision left their eyes permanently wide with shock. Fuiyu is still friendly, but they no longer chart rocks; they watch the sky.
