Ameko

Ameko was the most patient fisher in The Great Panda City. They knew every eddy in the river, every cherry blossom petal’s drift, all by instinct. That life ended during a mapping expedition high on the mountain, where a sudden freezing wind stole their sight. They were found, days later, by M-100, who offered a choice: darkness, or a new way of seeing. The Chimpborg eyes they accepted see far more than light; they see heat signatures, energy patterns, and probabilities. Ameko traded intuition for data. They still wear their old ramen hat and fishing gear, clinging to the explorer they were. But while their hands remember the feel of the rod, their eyes now see the world as M-100 does—a stream of cold, hard information.
