Chimper #800
Should a traveler lose their way in the outer forests, where the rivers run too fast and the trees are more green than amber, they might be found by a strange pair. One is Oka, who walks with a steady rhythm, leaning on a carved cane. The other is a jittery, fast-talking creature who claims to know every shortcut. They met when Oka freed them from a hunterโs snare. The creature promised to repay the favor by guiding Oka through the woods. Their first suggestion was to 'borrow' supplies from a sleeping merchant. Oka refused. This became their dynamic: the creature proposes the easy path, and Oka, with their half-lidded eyes and a wry smile, simply shakes their head and keeps walking the long way around. Thus, the traders who see them pass call them Oka the Uncompromising, for their path is always straight, no matter how difficult.
