Chimper #890
Every morning, Tomato carves two small figures from a single bamboo shoot. One they place on their workbench, the other they give to Kiti. When the wild tribe on the outskirts of Waterfall City took them both in, Tomato was the one who remembered their own name; Kiti had nothing. So Tomato decided they would build new memories together, one day at a time. They taught Kiti how to tell good bamboo from bad, how to weave nets that wouldn't snap in the powerful currents, and how to bargain with the frog merchants in the lower plaza. In return, Kiti offered a quiet, steady presenceโa silent anchor. The choc stick Tomato always carries is always broken in two, one half for each of them.
