Chimper #906
Takuri spread their wings, a sudden shield of mellow pink against the chunk of stone falling from the temple roof. The child beneath screamed, then fell silent. To the child’s parent, a jade merchant, Takuri is a guardian angel who appeared from the mist of Waterfall City and vanished just as quickly, leaving a single feather as proof. To the city guard captain, they are a public nuisance. They see the property damage, the unsanctioned heroics, and call Takuri a rogue vigilante whose intense, unreadable eyes hide a dangerous agenda. Down by the docks, the fishers have a different name for them: the Waterfall's Ghost. They see Takuri as a spirit, a good omen, and secretly leave offerings of silver fish near the plaza statue, hoping for a blessing.
