Chimper #1256
Rihou slipped between the pale stone shelves of the temple library, their masked face scanning the highest alcoves. Down in the main plaza of Waterfall City, merchants whispered they were an imperial assassin in hiding. Fisher-chimps claimed they were a rogue Soul Chaser. Rihou encouraged these rumors with a silent nod here, a sudden disappearance into the mist there. The truth was far less thrilling: they were the city's most popular romantic poet, and the intimidating gear was the only thing that stopped admirers from constantly asking for autographs. A young apprentice once bravely approached, stammering a request for a scroll on ancient battle tactics. Rihou paused, then gently redirected them. "Third aisle, second shelf. But the poetry section has far more interesting betrayals."
