Chimper #1322
Every morning, Monae polishes their golden armor before walking the perimeter. The younger wizards here in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria see only the absurdity: the descendant of the great Minamoto, a warrior whose very bloodline is a promise of liberation, wearing a ridiculous fish bait lure on their head. They whisper that itโs an insult to their heritage. But the older scholars, those who have seen Monae in a real fight, know better. We saw them return from a campaign in the wastelands, their armor dented and their haori torn. They said nothing of the battle, but went straight to a stall and bought that lure. They aren't mocking their heritage; they are surviving it, carrying its impossible weight with one small, defiant piece of foolishness.
