Mareri

After their third attempt to roast a marshmallow on a humming monolith went slightly awry, Mareri met their new traveling companion. The junior rock wizard, sent to escort the odd visitor out of The Crystal Highlands of Armaria, was unimpressed with Mareri's quest for the "perfectly ambient heat source." They insisted the crystals were for channeling cosmic energy, not for confectionary. But Mareri was determined. For weeks, the two journeyed together—the wizard pointing out ancient ley lines, Mareri pointing out clouds that looked like dragons. The wizard would explain lithomancy; Mareri would tell a story about a frog who learned to fly. Slowly, the wizard's lectures softened. They even accepted a perfectly browned marshmallow once. The quest isn't over, but the wizard no longer calls it foolish. They just check the wind before helping light the fire.
