Chimper #1642
In The Crystal Highlands of Armaria, a chimper's worth is measured by the magic they wield or the knowledge they hoard. The wizards in the midnight fortress call Kukuri a scavenger, stealing minor crystals that pulse with faint, useless light. They see the crimson cap bobbing through the canyons and dismiss them as background noise. But the miners who carve the monoliths tell a different story. They say Kukuri can read the land like a text, knowing which veins of rock will collapse before the first chisel strikes, and they trade food for Kukuri's quiet warnings. A merchant once claimed Kukuri swapped a flawless whisper-gem for a loaf of bread and a story, then vanished. They weren't angry, just impressed. Kukuri just keeps walking. Theyโve heard all the stories. They started half of them.
