Chimper #2150
Ryouga was not hired to guard a person. The contract was simple: protect one of the humming monoliths from rival rock wizards. But the scientist assigned to study it, a perpetually distracted chimper, proved more fragile than the ancient stone. They would trip over their own robes while sketching crystalline formations or nearly walk off a cliff, mesmerized by the way the sunset struck the floating fortress above. Ryouga's job shifted from fending off mages to yanking a scholar back from the brink. Annoyance slowly gave way to a strange fondness. These days, their grin isn't for an enemy, but for the ridiculous sight of their partner trying to catch a magical butterfly with a specimen jar.
