Chimper #2373
Norishige remembered the glint of sun on a prized silver fish, just before it flipped out of their grasp and back into the churning waters below. It was the centerpiece for the annual Waterfall City banquet. In a moment of sheer panic, they grabbed a handful of common, stringy river-kelp, declared it an ancient delicacy, and served it with a flourish. The dish was a shocking success. Now revered as a culinary visionary, Norishige spends their days talking their way out of explaining the complex (and entirely fictional) history of their signature ingredient. The gleeful look in their eyes is pure performance; the uneasy set of their mouth is the only hint of the truth they have to swallow with every compliment.
