Chimper #2391
In The Crystal Highlands of Armaria, power is measured by the complexity of the spells one can weave. Hanena, however, came from a family that measured power by the bushel. They were farmers of crystal-apples, a fruit that grew stubbornly in the magically-charged soil. Recruited as a trainee for their unusual resilience to arcane energies, Hanena was an anomaly. While others pored over ancient texts, they studied weather patterns. While others brandished enchanted wands, Hanena carried their apple stick. During a catastrophic failure of the fortress's main power crystal, every wizard was blinded by magical feedback. Hanena, shielded by their simple mind and high-tech visor, saw the pattern in the chaos. They jammed their stick into a fissure, grounding the overload. They are still a trainee, but no one questions their methods anymore.
