The still point in the turning world of Waterfall City’s lower market, Ryuuichi is known for their perfect rice cakes and their permanent look of mild disappointment. Their business partner, and the source of that look, is their sibling, Shusuran. While Ryuuichi measures, mixes, and steams with serene precision, Shusuran barters with frog fishermen, chases glowing river sprites for seasoning, and generally causes a delightful ruckus. Customers come for Ryuuichi’s peerless cooking but stay for the show. Ryuuichi never raises their voice, never spills a drop, even when Shusuran arrives dangling from a rope with a basket of rare, waterfall- misted berries. One brings the chaos, the other makes it delicious.
