Chimper #2864
The smell of toasted bread and sweet berry jam always cut through the constant spray from the falls. Tairou sprinted along the lower docks of Waterfall City, a half-eaten breakfast in hand, ignoring the stern tactical readouts scrolling across their Displayoooor. They were late. Again. Their training demanded they move unseen, a shadow learning to meld with the city's ancient stone and rushing water. But the baker near the fish statue always had fresh jam, a simple joy that outweighed any lesson on stealth or silent observation. They were a night-walker in lineage, but a morning person by choice. Reaching the temple steps, they took the final bite just as their mentor appeared, their expression one of practiced patience. Tairou just smiled, a sticky smear still on their cheek.
