Chimper #287
Kinoka’s feather cape is supposed to be a symbol of their noble lineage, a piece of decorum for the community they are helping build. Unfortunately, in Waterfall City, it serves primarily as a splash guard against flying fish and a preferred perch for mischievous river frogs. Every morning, they practice sword forms with intense focus, determined to uphold the honorbound traditions of their ancestors. By noon, that focus has usually been redirected to mediating a dispute between two fishers over a prize catch or patiently explaining to a group of children why a samurai’s topknot is not, in fact, a convenient handle. They came here with Shokei-moji to forge a new beginning of discipline and order. What they got was chaos, kindness, and the permanent scent of fried squid.
