Kaijirou

When the great spinning monoliths above The Crystal Highlands of Armaria first shuddered and reversed course, Kaijirou raced to the archives. Their sibling, Ryuka, raced to the monoliths. This has always been their dynamic: Kaijirou, the grounded scholar, believes answers are found in careful study, their tactical goggles filtering out distracting magical glimmers. Ryuka believes answers are found by poking the problem with a stick until it reacts. More than once, Kaijirou has discovered the precise arcane warning in a scroll just moments after hearing the distant explosion of Ryuka ignoring it. They are the most celebrated and frustrating partnership in the Highlands, a rivalry of method that somehow always yields results. One provides the map; the other walks off the edge of it to find the shortcut.
