Chimper #3433
Kimiwa did not come to the rain-slicked valleys to find a reason to stay. They came for relics and coin, a final adventure with their childhood friend, Hekirou, before their paths diverged forever. To Kimiwa, it was a job; to Hekirou, it was a memory in the making. But the howling winds that whipped across scorched plateaus and the sight of ghost dragons in the fog wore away at Kimiwa’s calculated resolve. It was Hekirou who kept their spirits from sinking into the swampy ground, sharing stories of home under a dripping raincoat. The turning point was a small, stupid thing: Hekirou slipped on a rock, and Kimiwa’s gasp of concern was louder and more honest than any sound they had made in years. The shades still hide their eyes, but they no longer hide the smile reserved only for their friend.
