Chimper #3865
Ushitarou carefully worked the knot loose while their companion hovered three feet off the ground, wings beating with impatience. โJust tear it!โ the younger chimp chirped. Ushitarou didn't look up, mutton chops twitching slightly. They had found the fledgling adventurer tangled in a similar mess high in the branches of The Fluorescent Isles a season ago, too proud to ask for help. Since then, they had been an odd pair. The youngster supplied the wings and the recklessness; Ushitarou provided the calm and a strange knack for finding solid footing with their apple stick. The knot came free. โFine,โ the winged chimp grumbled, landing. โYour way was better.โ Ushitarou simply broke an apple in half and offered a piece. Some partnerships don't need many words.
