Chimper #4557
The noodle vendors along the bamboo-lined avenues will tell you Kumime once achieved a state of such perfect balance that cherry blossoms would open at their passing. They wore their golden dragon robes with an air of profound serenity. That all changed the day they saw the wanderer Yukimura training. Inspired by a particularly dazzling spin of a spear, Kumime grabbed their own combat pole, certain they could replicate the move. They could not. The resulting self-inflicted knock to the head wasn't life-threatening, but it was ego-shattering. Since then, the tranquil mystic is gone, replaced by a chimp with permanently upset eyes and a wrinkled frown, whose cosmic wisdom is now mostly about the best way to nurse a bruised nose in the city's thin, cold air.
