Chimper #635
Magozaemon was a cartographer of shadows before they became a baker. They first arrived in The Great Panda City on a mission for a nameless faction, tasked with mapping its hidden routes. But their work led them to a quiet teahouse run by a potter whose hands were always dusted with fine white clay. Magozaemon began trading secrets for meals, then verses for company. They would recite lines inspired by the minstrel Shijin, but subtly change the words to be about the curve of a newly thrown pot. One evening, a coded message arrived, calling them away. They burned it without reading. The carved cane is the only relic of that other life; these days, it just taps a steady rhythm on the path to the market.
