Otohime

The wizard staff was a gift from Otohime's master, Kazumisoemi, meant for channeling cosmic truths with surgical precision. But Otohime tends to use it more like a butterfly net. During a lesson in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria, they were supposed to imbue a quartz shard with a simple light spell. Instead, distracted by a jeweled beetle, they tripped, sending the full force of their will into the staff itself. It shot skyward, clipped a floating monolith with a loud *GONG*, and plummeted back into their hands, now thrumming with raw, untamed power. This chaotic surge triggered their evolution. When Kazumisoemi found them, Otohime was grinning, attempting to share a berry with the little Chimp Fren that had been knocked from a nearby crystal tree onto their head.
