Chimper #790
The two guiding lanterns Muyuru carries were crafted for blizzards, their wicks charmed to burn bright against unnatural snowfall. Here, beneath a canopy of a thousand amber leaves, their light feels redundant, almost shy. Muyuru arrived in this warm, vibrant clearing after a chance encounter with the wild spirit Aki, whose blessing felt like a gentle, sunlit nudge toward a new life. But a blessing is not the same as belonging. They still wear too many layers, a habit from a much colder home. While the locals dance and sing, Muyuru often retreats to polish their lanterns. A local gave them a sweet choc stick once, and chewing on it has become a quiet ritual, a taste of this new world that doesn't demand they join the chorus.
