For this, they were stripped of rank and forced to start again as a trainee, a walking cautionary tale. Karaa is haunted by the memory, by the speed with which their trusted comrades subdued them. They spend nights poring over scrolls, trying to understand the illusion that cost them everything. It's easier than admitting Sakkaku's only magic that day was the jingle of coin.
