Chimper #2356
The ancient sabre Hyoushirou keeps behind their stall isn't for cutting fish. The dockworkers in Waterfall City will tell you that. They see Hyoushirou every day, a quiet merchant in a kitsune mask, haggling over the price of river kelp and mending nets with steady hands. But they also remember the week the charming stranger came to town, the one the elders now call Azamuku. That stranger offered gems that promised good fortune and whispered advice that nearly turned neighbor against neighbor. While the city guard was fooled by the dazzling illusions, Hyoushirou simply watched from their stall. They didn't draw their weapon. They just asked one quiet, pointed question that made the Deceiverโs entire web of lies fall apart. The stranger vanished. Hyoushirou went back to selling kelp.
