They see a simple chimp with an apple stick and an unamused stare, and they laugh. To them, the story of Merena finding a new road alongside the great Michi is a tale of luck—a lost farmer who stumbled into a hero's path. They say Michi took pity on them, nothing more. But the Panda Council scouts who watch from the jagged mountain chains speak of it differently. They saw Merena move through fields of skeletal remains not with fear, but with boredom. They claim Merena wasn't following; they were guiding, tapping that apple stick on stones that shimmered with false magic, dispelling illusions before Michi even drew their weapon.
