Kakunosuke

Kakunosuke didn’t steal the headset. They don't think of it that way, at least. They found it on a Teikodian courier who had succumbed to the freezing mountain winds in an alley off the main square of The Great Panda City. The courier had no more use for secrets. At first, Kakunosuke planned to sell it, but curiosity is its own currency. They put it on and listened. They never heard grand strategies or whispers of war. Instead, they heard the city's true heartbeat: which merchant was expecting a rare dye, when the guards changed shifts, who was desperate for medicine. Their gleeful haggling and loud greetings are the perfect cover. No one suspects the most expressive merchant on the street is also its most attentive listener.
